I'm sorry, I just have been too busy......... being a witch doctor.

What can I say? Hehe. The launch event was held by Asiasoft. And if you're not familiar with them.. it is a game operator company responsible for MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) games like Maplestory, Audition and Gunbound. For God's sake, they had to be in charge of Diablo III's launch event, which deals with over thousands of HARDCORE fans in Singapore alone! Other then the amazing RPG gameplay that is unique and sets itself away from the typical games, Diablo III alone took over 10 years to accomplish. Diablo first came out in 1996, followed by Diablo II in 2000. If I remembered correctly, I only knew of Diablo III 3 years back (even had some posts about it in my archives). So imagine the relief, anxiousness and hyper excitement when it's announced to be released this May 15th.

So I kan cheong went down to the nearest game retailer and pre-ordered my game. I was given a card and told to present and collect my game at Funan IT Mall on the 15th! It was until then I realised Asiasoft was in charge of the launch event. I didnt think much of it, I thought, since it's been handling MMORPG, they would know WHAT to do, especially since Diablo III's release is bound to be FUCKING EPIC. But upon looking at their FB page, disappointment just sweeps across me.

Why do people pre-order? Because you want to gain a privilege of being able to play as soon as possible, and perhaps attain freebies during the event. But NO. QUEUE STARTS AT 9AM, AND COLLECTION ONLY BEGINS AT 3PM TO CONCIDE WITH AMERICA'S TIME OF 12AM. So what the fuck are we to do between 9am to 3pm? They claimed that there will be events. Yup, events like LUCKY DRAW, and booths consisting of SPONSORS like Razzer and Nvidia. & get this, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY LUCKY DIP, BUT LUCKY DRAW. So if 5000 people are going to be there, only 10 will win something? Lol, ridiculous, who is going to stay from 9am to 9pm just to listen attentively to their numbers being called?
It can be pushed aside, afterall, we just want THE GAME.

On the event day itself, it was RIDICULOUS. The queue was from the start of Funan till the end! And it wasn't a straight line, but snake (curving in and out) lines! My bf queued for me at 430, and after work I rushed down and reached at 5pm. We queued for about 1hr and a half and THAT'S only for the QUEUE NUMBER. Yup. My number was 0265 and when we went in, the collection number that was screened was only at 0089!!!!! FUCKING HELL RIGHT? NOTE THE TIME, ITS ALREADY CLOSE TO 7PM. VERIFICATION CLOSES AT 9PM. That's right, verification of whaaaaat??????

It is unnecessary and TIME-WASTING, for EVERYONE!!

Below are complaints, and really bad feedback on their handling of the launch event.

Apparently, on the launch day, not everyone managed to get their hands on the game yet.

So yup, heres all the lies, contridictions and ugly side of Asiasoft.

Anyway, if you're wondering, I was lucky to be able to get my game on the day itself. Because apparently, they ran out of freebies. Everyone is entitled to spin or something to earn a freebie but because of that, they are thus permitted to just give the game and a bloody mousepad. Which isnt that bad really, because it sped up the collection process DOUBLE. Like seriously, every 10-15 mins collection numbers are jumping up 5 by 5 (0010 - 0015) etc. And I realised that I'm not the only one who got the queue number 0265, but others as well, so its a group of people tho its just 5 seperate numbers. So by 9 I've gotten my game, feeling satisfied yet slightly defeated. Whatever, went home straight and played.
